  Our new topic is Spring in P2. We've been using multi link, Lego and wood to make Spring bunnies, flowers and rainbows.

  We had brilliant news this week learning that our school athletics team was ranked in 1st place in the Belfast Region and that four members of our squad have now qualified for the Northern Ireland finals. An amazing achievement!! #proud

  

• A Big Shout Out

  A big 'shout out' to two more former GPS pupils Patrick and Kent who represented Ireland Under 18s over Half-Term against England. We're very proud of you boys!

  It was brilliant to have two former Gilnahirk boys at our hockey practice today. We're proud to have Andrew Hagen (Head Boy) and Matty Vincent (1st XI Captain) from @GGSsport
  They are two excellent young men and they have inspired a new generation of hockey players.

• Love Hearts

  Our amazing Parents' Association provided every pupil with a very special packet of Love Hearts on Valentine's Day. They make such a difference to GPS through their hard work and ongoing fund raising. Thanks!!

  Our Inter House Quiz was a very close contest with Lagan emerging as the overall winners. There are lots of talented young quizzers in P7!

  

• Happy Birthday Mr Campbell

  A Big Happy Birthday to our brilliant Building Supervisor, Mr. Campbell. He brings so much to Gilnahirk Primary every day with his hard work, sense of humour and care for the children. The whole school sang to him, one P7 pupil wrote a brilliant poem and 2 others an amazing card

  Last week in P2 we learned all about Doctors and Nurses and how they help us stay healthy. A doctor and 2 nurses visited our class and we learned a lot about their jobs. It was fun getting bandaged up!
