Thank you for taking the time to visit the Gilnahirk PS website.
Gilnahirk Primary School has a long and proud tradition of providing high quality education, dating back to the original Tullycarnet National School as far back as 1839.
The original section of the present building was built in 1939 but has seen a number of additions over the years, the most recent of which was in 2001. Our school is very well equipped to provide education in the ever changing educational climate of the 21st Century. As our motto states, we provide ‘today’s learning for tomorrow’s world’.
At Gilnahirk, we pride ourselves on our ethos of ‘children first’. Everything we do is geared towards that one central tenet: children are at the heart of everything. With that in mind, we aim to provide your children with the highest levels of learning and teaching, and to inspire them to be the best that they can be in terms of respect, attitude to work and academic standards.
We also believe that the job of any school is to develop the child in every way, so we offer a wide and varied extra-curricular programme that caters for a wide range of needs and interests, from music to sport, and everything in between.
Hopefully the time you spend perusing our website will give you a fuller taste of the sort of school we are, and of the wide range of activities that go on in Gilnahirk every day. If you wish to have further information, please contact the school on the number or email provided in the ‘Contact Us’ section.
Enjoy your visit.
