P7 Scientists

The scientists of P7 have been exploring surface tension in an experiment. In class, they sprinkled pepper across a container of water. They then placed a finger in the water and watched the pepper stick to their finger. Another pupil then dipped their finger in the water having first dipped it in soap. They discovered that the pepper rapidly moved away from their finger, leaving a clear ring around the finger. The scientists concluded that the soap around their finger altered the surface tension of the water, causing the pepper on the surface to move away from the soap.
