P3 have been having so much fun studying penguins. We measured our height to compare with the size of an Emperor penguin. To explore how penguins keep warm in very cold temperatures we conducted our own penguin huddle experiment. We filled plastic bottles with water and froze them. When they were frozen we placed them all together in a huddle so see how long they took to thaw out. It was a very long time. What we learned from this was the bigger the huddle the longer it took for the temperature of the huddle to change. A human penguin huddle was formed in class. It got very warm in the middle of it!
